Project Time

4 Weeks: including initial proposals, iterations, prototype testing, and final project analysis.

Proposal

This project consisted of ideating and prototyping an app that pertains to a specific social issue, in my case, nutrition.

Right away I knew I wanted to create an app that beats all of the calorie-tracking apps and does not feed into unhealthy eating habits, instead, I wanted to heal them.

Research

After the initial proposal was approved by the Professor, we were tasked with presenting wireframes to people within and outside of the class, and observe them trying to complete certain tasks.

e wireframes could then be iterated on using the findings from the UX research.

I found that the wireframes changed from my initial design when incorporating others’ intuition and thought process.

Final Takeaways

There are always aspects about a project you can look back on and wish to change.

This project as a whole taught me the importance of user research when developing ideas, because a design can look nice, but it is useless if a general demographic is not able to complete the tasks the project is meant for.
